WHY THEY KILLED JESUS
|
|
I grew up in the Methodist Church. As I grew older I began to ask questions. Why, why, why. As I grew older The Father put it in my heart to pray for wisdom so that I could understand the whys. Then He put a hunger for The Word Of God in my heart. All this together led me to some startling discoveries. And as I began to discover the truths in The Word I began to get the answers. One deep question was, "why did the religious people kill Jesus?" He never hurt anyone or deserved to be punished in any way at all. Then why kill Him? Maybe we can best understand if we look at what He was, what He did, and what He stood for. He, our sweet Jesus, was a kind, gentle, sweet, lovable person. Well what was wrong with that? Plenty, He stood out like a sore thumb against self centered, hard, righteous, holy-r-than thou types who were only interested in their own "goodness". They were so heaven bound that they were no earthly good. They constantly prayed and searched for the ultimate goodness, "how good can "I" get.? Everthing is always about them and their goodness! The word "I" is their favorite word. Does this sound familiar? But Jesus was different, He didn't worry about how good He was, He spent his time loving everybody around Him. to Him it wasn't about being good, but about being like The Father. His Father, our Jehovah, our God,our Father, what ever we call Him, "loved the world(us) so much He gave His only begotten Son that we might have everlasting life". He, our sweet Jesus, did things that angered the religious folks. These things still anger the religious folks today. To name a few, He did not judge others on their goodness or badness, He looked into their hearts and saw the true person. He saw a creation of The Father, a creation that He and The Father loved despite the "faults and short comings" we see. He saw a masterpiece of The Father's creation, someone unique. He didn't see a sinner, thief or murderer, He saw a person. He, our sweet Jesus, stood for what He believed in. He lived a life of loving others. This is not popular amoung the religious. They had rather show us our faults and sins. They had rather follow a set of rules set up by the religious hebrews of ancient times. But Jesus made them hate Him because He knew what the Father was really like and what He really wanted. We are in the same predicament today, as the religious are hard and can't feel with their hearts. Jesus loves everybody, even the religious hard people, He loves us all. So there, have we uncovered the why yet? Maybe part of it, let's keep praying for wisdom and maybe one day The Father will reveal "the rest of the story". Bro Billy |
