In Memory of My Father
His eyes were dim with age, his body was old and worn.
His voice shook when he spoke, he was often sad and forlorn.
God looked down from heaven and saw this sad and weary man,
And in His wisdom and loving kindness gently took him by the hand.
In his loving mercy releaved another weary soul,
From all his earthly problems and from the pain of being old.
God said "Come with me child your earthly battle is won,
Now you can be young forever and happiness has only begun."
Why do you weep so loved ones? For we must not be so sad,
But be thankful for all the years that we had him for a Dad.
